Strength In Numbers

A Separation - is not what I see
Unity - what I firmly believe
We all have traits that define ourselves
But that shouldn't divide us from everyone else
The power; voice of the few
Be amazed at what we can do
When we put differences aside
Strive to do what’s right
A Separation - is not what I see
Unity - what I firmly believe
It’s about time we put an end to this stuff
The outside world divides us enough

Perception

As the smoke clears our cloudy perception struggle to see
past the fog the dim light that they won’t let shine in
Let your feelings fade, here now but gone in an instant
When I feel this way I listen to the words echoing in the distance
“You say I can’t - I say I will try”
And all my self doubt I know I gotta leave it behind
As the clouds fall to sunlight and the negative energy subsides
A promising future on the horizon so bright it blinds
I know the pain I’ve been there too this stubborn game, we both lose
A stalemate caused by hate that’s blind it’s time we put the differences aside

Another Day

I've seen it and I've heard it
What happens to you is a burden
You're always being wronged
You're always being dragged along
Feeling sorry for yourself - it's for the weak
Quit your crying and complaining, and get back on your feet

Surface

Together all of us United by one single force
Friendship bonded at the core
But why do you look down on the ones you've known
All for unity? Or is that just for show?
Where your intentions lie
Just beneath the surface
Of what you hope to gain
It shouldn't be this way
Loyalty becomes just a word
To be a good friend you must be there too
Toxic intentions - you've grown see-through

Point Of View

I thought I had peaked the summit,
but really my head was just in the clouds.
Instead of reaching out and listening,
I was too busy talking down.
I never bothered to look
at what the other side wanted me to see.
All out of excuses,
the only person to blame is me.
I kept my head down
and never bothered to look up.
Feeling sorry for myself,
I kept myself in that rut.
Harboring negativity
You've gotta wake yourself up before it's too late.
I've been there too, I've felt that pain
and I've made that same mistake.
On the outside looking in
it seems like everything they do it trying to keep you out.
But it's time to put the prejudice aside
and find out what they're about.
Put the prejudice aside.
